The Brightness of the Sun

Woke up this morning, pulled my curtains as I always do every morning. It was so bright outside even though the sun had not completely risen. As I was thinking about the brightness of the day combined with sun, it dawned to me that in as much as it is bright outside, but it doesn’t determine the brightness in my life or the brightness of my day. What determines the brightness of my life for the day is the light that shines inside me. A bright and sunny day is sometimes equated with how the day will turn out – but the issue here is, as the sun is bright is there a brightness in your life? I am reminded of the song “you shine like a bright morning star” and this song was referring to Jesus the Christ that lives in me “he shines inside me in spite of the darkness or the brightness that surrounds me daily”. So my confidence today will not depend on the brightness nor the darkness around me, but I will put my confidence on the one LIGHT that shines within me whether the sun is bright or not.

I love the Message translation, “By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path”. Psalms 119:105 (MSG). Though the sun is bright or there is darkness that surrounds you; remember it is what God has said that keeps you on the right path because that on its own keeps you going because of the “beam of light”. It is not necessarily the brightness of the sun. Keep your head up
